About Me

Dr. Ghamizi holds a dual research appointment in Luxembourg: he is a Research Scientist at SnT โ€“ University of Luxembourg, one of the four permanent scientists in the SerVal group (SEcurity, Reasoning, and VALidation), a research group of over 65 researchers, and a Principal Investigator at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), where he leads two FNR CORE projects โ€” FM2MRI and PREDIPET-AD โ€” on trustworthy multimodal machine learning for brain imaging.

His work primarily addresses the understanding, the analysis, and development of AI-surrogates that model and simulate critical systems with high throughput and trustworthiness, mainly in the fields of Financial Machine Learning, Smart Grids, and Medical Diagnosis.

His work on Robust Machine Learning was awarded an ACM KDD Best Paper Award in 2020, and a SpotLight Paper at NeurIPS 2024, one of the most prestigious publication venues for Data Science and AI. His work has also benefited major financial institutions in Luxembourg (BNP Paribas), national enterprises (CREOS), and public institutions (Covid 19 Government Task Force). His recent work on Trustworthy graph learning and foundation models for Smart Grids (IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2025) paves the way for real world deployment of robust agentic models for power grids.
